so as far as i know, my 2000 cavalier has only 1 cigarette lighter style 12v outlet, correct? and it's right by the steering wheel, so not exactly a great place to have a wire always plugged into. how should i go about doing some custom wiring for a ps2? i have a power inverter that goes into the cigarette lighter, and i guess the best place to have all this would be in the glove box.
just splice the wire for it directly to the inverter instead of plugging it in...make a fuse tap/block and have it switched
If I were you I'd just run a power wire from the fuse box and then ground the other one out.
I have my power inverter underneath my center console, it fits perfectly in the space in front of the cupholder/s

yeah scotty b knows abotu that...we were installign his ps2/inverter and found out that shoving it in ther was the best place for it
isn't there a plug that goes directly into the cigarete lighter for PS1? at least?
the PS1 and PS2 plugs are the same.....
do why should you go throug an inverter, to drop the voltage again.......?

OK, obviosly i should have explained it better........
if you find that cigarete lighter plug that plugs STRAIGHT into the PS w/o going through a converter, then you CUT the plug off, and hard wire it in.....

Can't you just buy a female socket, wire it up (with a fuse of course), hide it behind the dash, and mount the inverter there too?
imhO..i think the cig lighter would look tacky...but then again thats imo
