i bought the python 881xp car alarm with remote start/ keyless entry..
I have a 2004 cavalier ... i don't have power locks or anything. do I need the "GM Passlock interface" thing? it's like $80 .... and I don't think I have any kind of antitheft to bypass..

Yes you do in order for the remote start to work. Otherwise it will start and then turn off right away.

95-99 have Passlock 1. 2000-05 have passlock 2. I think you can use the same bypass module for both of them. I believe the Directed module is the 555L if I remember right, but any shop that does remote starts should have one for you.
