Just curious , I have a mx series superwoofer from MTX and it sounds great but i really like the look of kicker's L5 better. Is the 10 inch kicker L5 gonna sound any louder then my MTX sub? im running my mtx on an MTX 502D amp it that matter thanks!!!

If you put the L5 into the correct box it should sound better as long as your amp is strong enough to power it correctly. A 10" L5 will hit like a 12" round sub. I just put an L7 12" in and I love it. Nice clean bass that is pretty loud in the car but you dont hear it out of the car.

I have two kicker s12l5's. When I had them powered at 800 max watts I blew my friends audiobahn setup out the water. He was running at like 1600watts in a ported box at 1 ohm. I am using a kicker recommended sealed box at about 2.25 sq. ft IIRC. Either way Kickers subs are very accurate and can get really low. Now I am running them at 1200watts rms and so far No amatuer audiophile in New haven can compete with them. I'm going for all spl next year when I go ported.
itll be louder but not as clear,and you def wanna get the correct size port,if not itll sound like @!#$.....go with an mtx 7500 if u wanna stick w/ mtx ,its an sq sub so it will never hit as high of db as a kicker but will be alot cleaner sounding. Kickers are great for hitting higher db's but mtx is so much cleaner,i have the mtx 9500's which is leaps and bounds above the L7,but what i paid for mine i couldnt pass it up. Check on kickers website for the correct size port for the l5 10'' if u r gonna go with that....
