well i got my remote start hooked up but now my ebrake and ABS light stay on any ideas to why this is happening

?? ive unhooked the battery left it off ect.. no luck tho
thanx
would a tech 2 help anything
That is due to a wheel sensor I believe....Could be a totally different situation....
the ebrake AND abs u think?
It happend to me....My sensor burned out because some nylon rope got wrapped around it on the freeway and melted it....
Whoever installed the remote start hooked up something wrong.
they double checked all the wires and never even touched the abs.. we did infact bypass passlock without the module.. by starting the car and cuttin the wire and turning it off.. but that shouldnt matter about the abs and brake lights the ebrake is obviously seeing ground or something does anyone know where i can check for the abs light
Uhhh.... well... I'm gonna go out on a limb here....
You're not supposed to "install a bypass" by cutting a wire. Heh. Neat idea tho.
Seems to me... if that little trick caused the problem, then un-doing it (and doing it the right way) should cure it.
I have never seen the Bypass by cutting a wire thing, try hooking up the passlock wires and see if they go away. Maybe the shop cut the wrong wires?? If the shop hooked up the remote starter correctly then this should not have happened.
When my battery exploded and leaked acid all over my driveway, my ABS light was on after I got it jumped
Nothing else wrong with the car. I still don't know why the ABS light came on. Had absolutely nothing to do with the ABS sensor or braking in general.

im not sure about your car but if there is a 2nd ignition wire it MUST be hooked up or your CEL will come on. Also you should use the crimestoppers module or the 555l module to bypass the passlock2 system...cutting the wire is not the way to go becuase it will perminately disable the passlock2 system....with the modules it will only bypass it to get your car started...at all other times the system still works. I got my crimestopper module for 30 bucks and it was only 4 wires...BTW that 2nd ignition wire MAY be ""white""
I just looked it up and the 95-99 have a second ignition wire, it is the white wire in the ignition harness. Illdwes was correct if this wire is not powered up with the remote starter then it will turn on the CEL. I can't remember for sure but you might have to hook this up and then disconnect the battery for 10 minutes to clear the computer of this code. your remote starter should have a wire for 2nd ignition.

My 97 had 3 ignition wires...
It wasn't throwing any codes upon remote start- it would just die right after I started it...
It had nothing to do w/ my antitheft-- I just had to use 2 relays to power up the 3rd ignition, and the car started fine.
i dont get how it could even come on if the 2nd ignition wire wasnt connected but im pretty sure its connected ill double check it
Some cars will start but the heater wont work. some wont start at all.

heater wouldnt start if the brown ACC wire wasnt hooked up nothing to do with the igniton
I said some cars, not your car in particular
well this is a jbody site lets keep it like that lol ill probably end up taping the bulbs i have no idea what is causing the abs and brake light
i guess im screwed on t he abs and ebrake light they seem to be on forever

no one had any problems in the past like this?

i know its not the actual theft light
Make sure that white wire is hooked up to the pink/white wire on the remote start harness. Almost all DEI alarms are the same colors. If your heater dont come on find the wire and test it to see if its an acc wire or a ign wire. Then just use a big guage wire and jump it to either acc or ign on the remote start. I also think you should use a bypass module instead of the override system you did, And you should also hook up tach. Im not an expert at this stuff but im an installer in training for FORD....yea i dont like FORD but i gotta start somewhere.....
