I have everything, I plan on getting up early Saturday morning and hooking it up.
Where can I safely drill for the hood pin? Every metal piece I find by the nose looks like It'll hit the radiator.
How about the siren?
Thanks in advance!

I haven't done this yet (Installed my own alarm). But in the book I read (Haynes Sport Compact Cars), it suggests a location near the battery. What about the left fender near the window washer bottle? Along those lines should work.
Let me know, I'll be ordering/installing an alarm soon!
Hope this helps!
Peace Out!
Sorry, I wasn't thinking. Use the above post for the hood pin and the siren that would be better left to you. Since I can't see what your engine bay looks like and what space you do or don't have. Just make sure your wires are long enough to go through the firewall, get to the battery, etc, etc,.

I have a 1999 Cavalier 2.2 SFI. Looks like all the others under hood with the exception of a fuse holder on the driver's side shock tower.

mount the siren on the firewall
kyle
Near the top-- maybe a foot to the left of the driverside shock tower??? Make sure the siren points downwards..
I have my hood pin mounted to the shock tower.
My siren is mounted to the pass side shock tower, and i dont use a hood pin.
Tach wire question:
According to the12volt.com's cruise control wiring database, I can get to pin 8 of the PCM in the passenger's kick panel. It's a white/purple wire.
Is that a good wire to get tach signal for my remote start?

I have mine set up tachless
yea, but my alarm senses the rpm's in case they are too high or too low it will think a problem with the engine and shut it down. also monitors if the car started or not (in case it messed up or something) and needs to recrank or not.

Hook up tach, it will work better. I got it under the hood it was a white wire..dont remember if it had a stripe or not, and i think it was coming off the coil packs or in that area....BAD memory...sorry LOL. Also if you got an on my 2200 i took off the stock air box of an intake and there is a bracket that held the stock box in place on the driverside by the shock tower. i just drilled it there facing down. No hood pin but if any one opened it up the shock senor would probably go off.

That's all well and good, but I want to shut the remote start off when the hood is up. Safety thing, you know?
So I drilled near the hood support "knob" in front of the battery and found it to be a channel upon removing the headlight. I can't tighten the nut inside of it
I'll look before I leap next time.
I applied a dab of silicone as a temp fix until I can get some bondo and touch up paint.
I need to look someplace else. How much room is in the shock tower? I'm wary of drilling those because they support the weight of the car.
