Best SQ Sub

Hey guys...
Im looking at getting a new setup now that I got rid of the W7 and the porting fiasco I want to know what you guys might think. I want something that hits LOW, HARD, and ACCURATE.. I think the best bet for what im looking for is gonna be 1-2 12"s.

For Subs I was looking at:
2 12" Avalanches
2 12" RL-Ps
2 12" Type Rs
1 12" XXX ( new one or old one.. whenever some new info thats not 4 months old comes out on it )
1 12" Brahma ( same as above )
1 12" RL-S

*Any of this will be sealed.. no ports for me again.. to easy to @!#$ it up ... *

Anyways.. you get the idea at what im looking at... and as far as amps go. I was gonna pick up a Hifonics BX1605D amp.. or something equvalient..(with type-rs id be running M1005..) and I dont know too much about how to match up ohms.. but I want to be able to run it at 1 ohm with the amp because I want to get the full 1600 watts out of it.. or in that range..

My main goal is SQ.. like I mentioned. but I want to be able to get it deep and loud when I need too ( IE cocky car audio bastards around town that say anything else besides ( brand name ) is crap..

I appriciate any input because this has me completely lost.. now that you know what I want, maybe someone can point me in the right direction

Ikesound is a great company. Everyone you're going to ask is going to give you a different opinion on the subs. While I might like the alpines, wysiwig might like the xxx, someone else might like the brahmas or shivas. As for the alpines, wysiwig posted a site with a video of an alpine type r hitting 150 db with 2 memphis amps strapped. That's close to 2000 watts rms. I would say you'd have no problem getting 2 dual 4 ohm type r's (2005 series) and running them of the hifoniks amp.

I found this as a setup if I went alpine from Ikesound.com

Alpine 9855 Headunit
339 ( List approx 550 )

Alpine Type R Subwoofers ( 12" ) x 2
115 x 2 = 230 ( List 660 for 2 )

Alpine MRD-M1005 1000wrms Mono Channel Amplifier
312 ( List 900 )

Alpine SPR-17LS 6.5" Comonents in doors
129 ( List 354 )

Alpine SPR-69LP 6x9 Coaxial 2ways
88 ( List 222 )

Alpine MRV-F545 4 ch. amp ( 125 x 4 rms )
325 ( List 650 )

Alpine KCE-510M V-Link Control Module
50 bucks

Is the Type X an SPL Sub? I was under the understanding it was.. like I said I dont want anything boomy.. I want punchy and tight.. I can get Type X pretty cheap too.. so just wandering

Also I would love a new XXX but im afraid from the video if it that it looks like its a lil too much for what I need.. 5" of excursion is a bit much lol

For SQ, my choices would be anything Adire makes, Dayton Titanic, IDQ, or JL 12w6v2s. I've also heard through the grapevine that TC Sounds makes some wicked SQ subs (but have never heard one).
As for an amp - my vote goes to Mmats for SQ.

well i am going to be swapping out my system soon for a more SQ oriented setup, and keeping it somewhat budgeted, 6.5" Type-R comps up front, removing rear speakers, welding rear pannel shut and covering the entire car in sound deadener, and running 2 10" Type-R's in sealed box (all off my 9833, RF P3002, and RF P8002), and i KNOW this is gunna sound good. i kinda know what im talking about, im sure some more expensive brands that i personaly have not experienced might be better, but Alpine Type-R's are just an amazing SQ sub

BAH, how could I forget the @!#$ shiva, I havent thought of that sub in a long time, Adire Entry level, but fantastic. MY uncle has an older home audio version of it.

Those Components are 350 watts ( 70wrms ) and the 6x9s are 250 watts ( 50 wrms )... does the F545 ( 125 x 4 rms ) amp seem like a good match or should I go with the Alpine F345 its 75w per ch. RMS

Plus the 12" Type Rs are dual 2-ohm Voice coils... if that helps with the 1005amp.. would that be able to be at 1 ohm.. the amp is 1000wrms.. and I would like to get everybit out of it since ive heard of people getting 2kw out of one 12 Type R.. Idk..

Just looking for the best setup I can get out of all of this.. plus seeing as how I want to get loud and stay clear.. would 3 12's be better than the 2 15's as far a tight bass.. or should 2 be efficient.. I want to win local comps.. but my one 12 W7 was winning already.. so as long as I can get louder than that

audison, brax, us amps get my vote for sq amps image dynamics for subs and speakers
Re: Best SQ Sub

think those amps are out of his price range

look into image dynamics. they arnt expensive, they dont require allot of airspace, they are really accurate and play loud and low. my 2 10" are being pushed by a kicker 500 watt amp. are hitting at right around 138-140 db's are accurated, play down to the 17hz range and are in a box that is only 1 cu. ft. (total for both)

i almost shyt when i seen those prices. they were even $50 on the alpine coax's i was looking at before going with my infinity's.

i was going to go ahead and order my amps from them instead of my usual retailer until i seen this: http://www.resellerratings.com/seller5489.html just a friendly heads up

bad customer service ratings that bad make me want to stay where i'm at. may be higher $$ but never had a problem (bought my entire system from crutchfield, sans my sub amp)

I think im gonna get my stuff.. starting with cheapest and working my way up.. I have read nothing but rave reviews until that post.. but ill pick up the 6x9s fist and control module and alll of the cheaper stuff and make sure I like the business and if I do continue getting more expensive stuff untill I pick up the 3 amps from them if everyrthing has gone well up to that point

* I guess ill be putting a 1005D to each Type R in a ported enclosure.* I got ahold of a reputible guy in chicago thats very popular on another car audio forum and he promises he can make me love ported again and the Rs love ports.. I just hope we can make something fit

let us know how they are if you end up ordering from them. since they didn't have many recent reviews it'd be nice to see how they are now.

only issues ive heard on them were when things were on backorder, so i'd just verify that the product is in stock. i havnt ordered from them personally though.

ikesound is OK...they tax out the anus on shipping prices (that's where they make their profit)

most of the stuff they sell is AT COST..then they just charge crazy shipping prices to make their money.

i got a wholesale account there btw, not much of a discount though
