I wasn't planning on getting subs for a while, but I got a wicked deal for these 2 2005 12 inch Alpine Type-R subs, 1500(3000 for both) watts peak, 500(1000 for both) watts RMS, dual voice coils, 4ohms. Whats a great amp to power these subs? What guage wire ... 4? Should I get a capacitor, maybe a new alternator? What would be a good box for these as well?
Thanks a bunch guys!
I've always been an audiobahn fan, despite people bashing them i have all there higher end high current amps and digital amps and there amazing.I had two type R's ho0ked up to my audiobahn A1300HCT monoblock,1200rms@1ohm. You'll need either a 1 ohm stable x1channel/2ohms X 2channel amp or a 4ohm x1 channel amp. I still have the 1300hct amp if ur lo0king for a solid amp cheap,if not check out some MTX/kicker/audiobahn etc. class d amps will do the trick. You wont blow the type R's even tho there only 500rms a piece, type r's blow more commonly due to under powering than over powering,lo0k for anything 1,000rms-1300rms n ull be fine
go with tha alpine 1000 watt mono amp
