Some good info for all

Ok all the time people are asking whats good for this and whats good for that and they have no clue as to what the real basics are. Pick up a book and read about the basics.....its 2 bucks for crying out loud
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0070580839/ref%3Dase%5Fcarstereocom-20/104-1968779-0199920?v=glance&s=books

it gives you a basic understanding of what car audio involves how to build you system and what to look for in products. If you dont want to spend the time to learn the basics and just jam a system in your car. Take it to a sho pand have them do it and stop with all these posts. whats good for this sub what amp do i use for sub "X"

I'm not bashing on people who want to know someones experiances with a product, that by all means is part of researching a product. Its the people who have no clue and fill a forum with worthless noscence cause their to lazy to take 5 min learn something.

but asking other people is a way of learning something
questions get you answers and answers get you knowledge
i agree that sometimes it gets annoying
although maybe we can ask dave to put in a newbie audio forum so that they repeated questions can be asked there

specs on a webpage sometimes don't mean anything to some people without some actual input from someone who has used the product. companies can say this particular item has this and this and this, and a something or other rating of something.. but if you don't actually know of anyone in your group of friends who has actually used the product then do you just take the company's word for it? people have to remember that companies are in the business to make money. some guys just like to hear other people's opinions, instead of just relying on what specs the company puts on a webpage. u dig?

i dunno man. just my $0.02 on the subject..

crazykev, its not so much about people asking the quality of a product but more of people who come on here and expect people to do everything for them. I've used quite a few different products and if someone wants to know somethings about it I would more than offer what i know about it. But its crap like jo schmoe coming on here and going can someone tell me what size box to put in my car; cause hes to lazy to take a tape measure out there and look. Little stuff like that. Or someone coming on here and going on about tell me what amp is good for a 500 watt 12" sub. They dont give the make of the sub what their intentions are with it what they are looking for.

Personally I learned everything I know from reading different books and searching on termpro for answers to questions that people have already asked. And if i couldnt find the answer then I asked a question. I just cant stand it when people cram a forum with the same questions a dozen times over and over again. I come on here about once a day and its always the same thing all the time. occationally there is something worth reading but not all that often.

Good point. How about we just throw it at them instead. Might knock some scence into them.If not it would be really funny.

If we all would read books on stuff instead of posting here or on other forums, then what would be the point of hanging around here?!? It's what keeps a forum alive! Don't read the post you don't want to read, that's it.
