STOCK SHIFTER was a stab I was taking at the installer/owner that actually made it to print. Just have not gotten around to building a new one yet.

Is that going to be clear plastic too? And what the heck was the idea behind that steering wheel and the seats anyhow? I'd be affraid I'd end up with a second a-hole trying to get in....

Interesting..... Def interesting....

I can tell it's not a daily driver by the seats and steering wheel, do you have the First Aid kit well displayed (but hidden from the pics??) haha j/k. Pretty cool over-all, but do your doors go up any higher?? I have the MMS kit and they go quite a bit higher than your pics...

It mostly likely will be a cross of plexi and aluminum . The idea behind the seats and the steering wheel is "one-off" we did it, can do it, and will do it. When our customers see the care and detail of the shop car, they instantly trust our abilities, comes in very handy when building company demo vehicles.

The kit on the car is the first one produced by Autoloc (have had them for three years or so). We have been offered the "newest and greatest" but being that the fenders are molded to the bumper and sideskirt, no removal in the near future is set.

man, thats freakin awsome, i do alot of custom stuff, fiberglass, wiring and such so i know how much work goes into the smallest stuff, that plexi is hot, you guys have any way of lighting the seat or steering wheel up? i'm curious what something like that would cost your average joe to have you build.

For the seats we would charge roughly $7000.00. Sound expensive?
Parts:
Aluminum (seat bases) 1/2" thick 6'x2' sheet
Plexiglass sheets 1/2" thick 4'x8' sheet (2)
MDF sheet 1/2" thick 4'x8' sheet (for jig)
Bend-a-board
Bondo
Fiberglass resin
fleece
Carbon Fiber look vinyl
Custom stitching
Steel square tubing 2"x2" 12ft length
Primer
paint
clear coat
SAND PAPER, SAND PAPER, SAND PAPER
Heat gun (2)
Custom made holder for the guns

Labor:
Water jet the aluminum into desired shape
Bend steel tubing
Make desired seat shape jig
Router the plexi seat from jig
Heat and bend, heat and bend, TOO MUCH HEAT, bubbles in plexi, start over
Heat and bend, heat and bend, getting there
Polish aluminum bases
Buff all plexi edges
Build frame for seat support
stretch and glass seat support
bondo, smooth, prime, paint, clear seat support

yeah, that is just about it. Getting to the point you can heat and bend plexi with no bubbles, stress marks, etc.....PRICELESS!!!!!!!

Cool, congratulations.

It kind of sucks though that none of us who have been doing this to Cavaliers for many years now have gotten any recognition though.

How do you bend your plexi without it fogging up?

We are pleased to announce (for those that care) that Brent Davison (owner/installer BD Audio Creations, builder of this Cavi) has been named to the list. Annually, Mobile Electronics magazine compiles this list, and we just got the call to inform us he made the list.

Why does this matter to me? I am not only a client, I am the sales manager.

My issue of Road Gear came today.

1. It looks much better than the online pics I have seen.
2. The second paragraph says Brent has owned it since new.

Good job, congratulations. My appologies for being bitter before. The car is full of creative ideas. Did the ceiling wiring run down the B pillars?
