12v constant problem
Tuesday, September 06, 2005 12:59 PM
I put in a new deck on the weekend, and after discovering my 12v constant wire going to my deck was ..well, not giving me 12v constantly. I then tapped into the next logical 12v constant source, which I figured was to the cigarette lighter (which I dont use anyway). Now my battery is half dead every time I go to start it. Where I get confused is, would a 12v constant be the same as the next 12v constant? or what should I be tapping into if no the cigarette lighter? Thanks in advance..

if all else fails..just run a fused wire straight to the battery from the headunit

Do you have your ACC wire hooked up to a constant source by accident?

Might sound kinda dumb- but I used to get confused back in the day..

Wires from radio:
Yellow- Constant
Red- Ignition

Like mentioned above, you sure you are using the right wires?

well, turns out my battery was shot.

like...10.65 V shot..

it was just a wikkid coincidence that it went at the same time..
