yah really.. tell 'em to go get stuffed man. it only takes what.. half a second to arm the alarm. tell them to shut their windows and close the curtains if arming your alarm for a half second distracts them that much.

Honestly, I'd rather have no one know that I'm arming my car. Makes it look like there's something worthwhile to steal.

ok first of all, I live in an area where theft isn't much of a problem, I'm the only one in this house even locks my doors at night, I agree 100% with BradSk88. Second of all why should I tell my neighor to @!#$ off? to me its common cortessy, I would be pissed off if every night someone aimed there car at my bedroom window flashed the lights a few times and honked. and I'd be even more pissed off if they told me to @!#$ off when I brought it up. They don't call the cops on my when people are over late and were outside with music drinking, she doesn't call the cops because my car is loud as @!#$ when you start it first thing in the mourning, or that we park in the driveway blocking the sidewalk (which is illegal here) or when I wash my car during the hours of the watering ban (certain times of day no hose can be used) so why would I try to be a hardass and be a dick about it. Sorry but some of you need to grow up.

Anyways, I used a tech 2, you can adjust all that @!#$.

And one would get a Tech 2 where? Or is it something a dealer would have to do?

Doesn't matter too much to me anyway, my horn doesn't honk The lights still flash tho, so when I'm working on the back of the car and forget to unlock before popping the trunk, the lights will be flashing. Still would be nice to tinker with all the menus....

but wouldn't tehy still get annoyed when it goes off for no reason, i mean my brother had an alarm, and it would go off for low flying planes, rainstorms, snow, a passing garbage truck.....you name it

factory alarm doesn't go off for no reason.

and yes Paul is a dealer/factory GM scan tool, since my VW dealership has a Buick side we have one

first off I'm pritty shure that the factory alarm has it where you can make it so that the horn dosen't honk when you lock it... just the lights flash. (I think if you open your door and bush the arm bttn on your keychain it should turn the horn off and off)

and If you could figured that out, you could of just faced your car the other way (no horn no lights at the window).

or you could just push the lock bttn before exiting your car.

these are just other options.

I can't beat everybody.... but I'm sure as hell going to try.

The real question is when your alarm goes off does it flash and honk still? If so that's a smart idea. No one then knows that you have an alarm and are caught with their pants down. Sometimes good sometimes bad I guess though.

I know where I live it is illegal to honk your horn except in emergency situations. I heard a story somewhere that someone would go by this house and honk every morning because it was their friend. So one of the neighbors complained and a cop busted the guy driving the car. Pretty stupid if you ask me...cops should be out busting real crimes.

YES THE ALARM WORKS LIKE NORMAL, I'm not understanding how this is such a hard concept to grasp, the alarm works exactly how its surpossed to, with the exception that there is no honking or flashing lights when you ARM the alarm, still flashes and honks when its goes off like its surpossed to and the red anti theft bulb inside the car still flashes in plain site, its just doesn't do anything to anounce its armed.

And there is a difference between standing up for myself and tell ing my neighbor to @!#$ off if they don't like something. And I'm preaty sure noone is hiding in the bushes waiting to see if the horn beeps and lights flash when I walk away so they can rob me. It cost me nothing, it took me literally about a minuet to do, its not an inconvience or any less save in any way shape or form.

Sounds good then. I think its better that it doesn't do all those things when you arm it.

And Ryan let me know what time

In none of those posts did I see anything about the alarm still working like normal. I was trying to be nice and see exactly what you did with what little info you typed. All I asked about is if the LIGHTS and the HORN still work with the alarm. There are such silent alarms that let your keychain know only. So before you post something like a douchebag, go back and read what you wrote. Why @!#$ post a two or three sentence post that doesn't describe what you did and then try to rip on people cuz they don't know what you did?
