Well if it was me I would go with the third one looking at the specs. It also depends on the speakers your going to be running. Most of them tell you what size box you need or well atleast how many cubic feet the enclosure needs to be. I am not sure what you are looking for sound wise either but keep in mind t hat a sealed enclosure is going to be a more accurate sound and not as loud or hard hitting. Ported will give you a happy medium but take more space and a bandpass will be the hardest hitting and the least accurate. You guys can correct me if i am wrong. Its been a while since i have looked at the audio end. So i would start by looking at the speaker spec sheet and work from there.
i deicided to build my own so this thread is usless.
Well Gee your welcome......
lol sorry i didn't notice that u posted on here, thanks for ur input tho
Its all good I figured as much.... I was just busting your chops man. If your building your own box look for 3/4 mdf you should be able to get it at home depot.... also make sure you seal the crap out of it with a good quality caulk in all the seams.... I used a glue/caulk in all the joints then went back and sealed the inside with a silicone. Yes it was over kill but i had a friend who didnt seal it in any way shape or form and wow did that sound like crap. He asked me what was wrong i looked sealed it up good for him and it sounded great.
I'm planning on ordering a pair of infinity reference 10" single voice coil subs and the infinity reference 600watt amp to go with them.
I can't decide what kind of box I want to get for them ... is there some place I can go to actually hear the difference between sealed and vented boxes? i'm really picky and don't want to be disapointed..
I tried going to circuit city, but those guys aren't really any help, they just said the same thing that was said here.. sealed is more accurate, isn't as loud, vented is louder and doesn't sound as natural, and is more boomy..
I'd like to go somewhere with a cd I burned with the kind of music i listen to and see what the difference sounds like..

Well I dont knwo where you live but most local shops will let ya do that some will even let you test them in your car in a box they have.... what kind of music do you like to listen to would be a start.... I mean if you listen to classical music you dont want a bandpass box... if you want to pop in a bass cd and bounce your passenger out the passenger side window a sealed enclosure is not what you want. Sealed enclosures (what i have in my car) produce a more accurate sound so if you like accurate sounding music that would be best for you. a good middle of the road is the vented box and its just that middle of the road its not the cleanest sounding reproduction but its not as distorted or limited as a bandpass.
