All the setups i've done was I put a thin piece of wood in the roof covering and mounted the flip-down screen to it.

Pull out your head liner cut out an area that would fit the base of the screen and fiberglass and bondo the rest and re upholster it. Its not all the difficult of a job if you know how to lay fiberglass its just time consuming. I'd say about 15-20 hours work all together if you take your time

I'll make it as simple as i can.
-Measure the opening needed for the screen base
-Measure and cut the opening
-Get a 1/8" piece of wood that is about 2 inches larger than the hole.
-Mount the screen to the wood so it lines up neatly
-Get out your fiberglass and start preping materials......(If you have never worked fiberglass before And are still confused by this part. Take it to a shop and have them do it.)
-glass around the screen base and the wood mounting plate and let it dry
- Bondo it to make it look nice
-Get ready for the wounderful world of sanding
-prime/paint it or get some upholstery

uhhhh? wth are you talking about? pull down the headliner, put something you can screw into behind it and screw the flip down to it, put the headliner back up and you're done.

your headliner is firm enough to hold the screen, they don't weigh much at all. of course there will be instructions with the screen most of the time.

they are right all you need to do is screw the wood to where your dome light was secured to. then you just screw your screen to the wood. remember to check the length of the screw so you dont go through the top. most screens also have a dome light in them so al you need to do is connect your dome light wires to the wires for the new light with the screen. as far as the wires, you just get them from behind your radio. run the up your a pillar and to your screen. it is actually very easy.

Might also be able to use some of that liquid nails stuff and mount the wood to the inside of the roof, then follow above suggestions if you are worried about headliner saggage.

ok its not hard to do this. i have done 30 of these in the last two years. first u will have to drop ur headliner by removing ur a pillar plastic, visors, dome lights, b pillar plastic, clothes hanger hooks, and finally c pillar plastic. be fore warned it can be tricky to get a headliner out of a car without creasing it, so take it slow and easy. next simple look for some " rails " going across ur roof. take a piece of 1/4 mdf cut it fit the rails. make sure u look in ur rails to see how low they are from the roof. use a 1/2" or 3/4" drywall screws to mount this wood to the rails. u do want it to be over ur dome light hole . also while all the guts are out, u will need to run ur a/v cables and power and turn on wires up the b pillar is easier than apillar. just duct tape them in place cause once everything is back together they will be fine. next put ur headliner back in only using ur visor screws and rear clothes hanger hooks/screws. screw the monitor over the dome light hole into the peice of wood u hung up earlier. make sure the screws dont warp the headliner so it looks good. if so, unscrew it, make ur connections, make sure it works, then just screw it in, put all ur plastic back in and ur done.

do not use liquid nails cause it will come off ur painted roof sooner or later.

what wires are usually on a screen.. minus the domelight ect.. there has to be a 12v wire.. what do i connect that to? of course the AV wire goes to my "OUT" line on my head unit. but im confused to where i put the 12v wire from the screen is there like a remote wire AND a 12v? thanx my dome light is screwed anyway and i cant find a replacement so i guess this helps
