I need some help installing my alarm system. Im doing a little instruction reading first. it says vehicles with passlock I and II, need a specific transistor, viper part number 555L, Specifically listing our cars. The thing is, when i purchased my car from its former owner, he had a Hornet Alarm system already installed. Im wondering if they would have already installed the part, or could he have bypassed it alltogether. I just want to know if i really need the part. (89$ Value).
Secondly If i have to go through best buy to get it installed and they realize i have a manual, will they refuse to install the remote start? and if they do, how easy would it be to connect after the fact? (sorry if that sounds sloppy)
Have then install the remote start. They will tell you it won't work, because of the neutral safety switch. As long as when you leave the shop you can hold the clutch all the way down and remote start it, you will be happy.
Now at home all you have to do it grab the two wires going to you neutral safety switch, the button that gets pressed when you put the clutch down, located against the firewall. Just connect these two wires and you will have by passed the switch and the R/S will work fine.
so how long do you expect it to take a first time alarm installer to do the job?
SEVERAL HOURS, if you can find out where all the wiress are, and what color, otherwise you gotta test each one, and you have to know somewhat about wiring....

wait for it... wait for it... NOW GO!! ---> '02 LS Sport <---

They sell remote starts for manual cars now. You just have to leave it out of gear and press the brake before you get out. Something like that. But they do sell them now.

They have been out for a while. Check out compustar.com There 2WSS-AS is a great alarm. It cost a few $$$.
A first time installer will take a while, almost don't recommed anyone to do it on there own the first time. If you got a buddy that has done it before, get him to help.

any remote start will work as long as you bypass the clutch.
but as for having a friend help, yeah im planning on getting someone who knows what they're doin to help.
Have a professional install your alarm. The warranty is void if it's not installed by a certified installer.
If you want your sunroof to open with the remote you have to call directed. J-bodies have problems with the 530T window module too. I'm currently in the process of letting them use my car as a test to see if they can manufacture a bypass to get the sunroof to work.
