Ascendent Audio... Sound Splinter

Hey everyone,

I found these subs and have been looking at Termpro and some other places and they seem high quality, but I havent heard of any of them before.

Does anyone know anything about this brands..

Also, I am looking for something that doesnt Take a ton of power to hit low and hard.. but can take abuse if I am at a comp but also its my daily driver and I dont listen to a lot of rap unless im showing off.. anyone have any suggestions if these would do that for me.

I was thinking the Ascendent Avalanche ( 2 12's ) or Sound Splinter RL-P ( 2 12's ) with a good amp like a hiphonics high powered amp.. Idont have my heart set on anything yet.. just looking for opinions to get away from mainstream audio, but I dont want to buy without asking someone who might have heard this

Thanks guys... as always

if you want a sub that'll get loud with low power...might want to wait unti the new brahma's are released
600rms is what i heard the power rating was.

Hmm, having ran 12w6s in the past I'd be very curious to hear why you think this? Yes, JL is expensive, but reputations are earned, not given.

12W6v2s run around $500 at Visions, and the 12W3v2s list at $350-400 CAD. I paid $600 CAD for my pair of 12W6s (original series). The W7s are a breed of their own - way too expensive, but the W6 and W3 lines can hold their own against best out there when it comes to SQ. If you're only argument against the entire product line is the price tag of a 13w7, gimme a break. The fact that you went into a shop to price out a 13W7 proves that you were at least interested in finding out why so many others love JL.

Sorry, it wasn't Visions but A&B Sound. Visions also wanted $1600 for a 13W7. If you actually dealt with a real car audio shop you could get a much better deal than the "list price" that those bozos give you.

I personally run the Ascendant Audio Avalanche15 and I can without a doubt say it is the best sounding sub I have ever heard. It beats the brahma, xxx, w7, infinity perfect(i know not in the same class), and the IDMAX. The max came really close in musicality thought. The XXX and w7 were a little louder, but I didn't think so much noticably. I hit 141.2db legal, sealed up on the termpro with 800 watts. This sub is very, very efficient. I listen to everything from rock to rap to techno to death metal. This sub hits low with authority on the rap, but can play the kick drums of death metal with ease. This if the official ascendant audio forum for more info. There is a problem though, Ascendant Audio is currently redesigning their drivers, which means none are available now, but should be in a month or two. The soundstream RL-Ps are right up there in SQ/SPL as the avalanche and XXX or sort.. Below is the pic of my install
