just wondering why the 5500 costs a lot more then the 7500 when the 7500 looks like the better deal? is there somthing im not seeing in the 5500? thanks

I don't know where you looked, but on cardomain.com the 5500 sells for 150, and the 7500 sells for 250 (both DVC, 12''). You may have just found a good deal somewhere, because the 7500 should be more. It can take more power, and it has a larger magnet.
haha woops! i was looking at these for my car BUT... the ones that i am looking at are still better then the 5500 and the 7500 and are cheaper

neither, MTX blows gigantic Donkey balls. Do yourself a favor and pick up some Type S Alpine woofers or Type R woofers and enjoy better sounding, more pounding, cheaper subwoofers.

mtx blows, but no that bad, atleast not as bad as alpines, 7500's will outperform both alpines......personal opinion is kicker L5 or L7, my friend has 1 L7 12 and a kicker 750 watt amp, and he hit 143.....it is loud and cleaannnn

As i've said before, e-mail or call resonant engineering (Get the phone and e-mail at www.reaudio.com). A guy on this board just got 3 10''s shipped for like $180, and they will kill anything that has been mentioned here so far. It's worth a car, and their subs are definitely worth it.

Well to answer your question is cuz the 1004 is discontinued. you cant get it anymore. Circuit city dosent carry it anymore. They cleared them out at that price.

i dont think that mtx sub suck at all, I run 3 mxa1004 woofers on a mtx mxa8001. it pounds like crazy. Iv owend everything from alpine svc12" type r , 2 10" kicker l5's. 2 12" audiobahn woofers. I love my mtx subs more than any other woofers iv onwed in the past

I just bought the mx series sub from mtx. they had two left in stock and i bought one. it sounds amazing!!!! i have it hooked up to a thunder series 342 amp from mtx. wow. thanks for all the advice but in the end MTX won. i would defenitly recommend getting mtx in the future, in my opinion anyways
