A wiring Question
Monday, August 22, 2005 8:17 PM
This idea was sparked to me, its so simple, but i think it would be cool...... After putting blue LED's in my reverse lights, i was thinking, hmm.....::

Can i run a wire, from the power wire that lights up my brake lights (on my taillights) and run them up the trunk to my reverse lights, attaching it to the power wire?? So that it would make the reverse lights shine when i hit the brakes, making it look like i have double brake lights??is it possible? will it mess up the load and blow a fuse?

OR

Should i just totally sever the reverse light power wire, tape off the reverse light power, and just run a jump off the brake power wire??leaving me with no reverse lights.....

I would think ##1 is better? but im scared to blow a fuse.

There was instructions floating around not too long ago..

Replacing the reverse bulbs with red ones- and wiring them up to act as running lights/brake lights...

We did it on my friends car a few years back... Just involves making a little jumper wire.

But you would lose your rev. lights..

hmm, i tried what i posted, ran a wire from my brake/turnsignal wire, to the power wire of the reverse lights, but when i hit the turn signal, i only wireed up one side, the other side lights too, i think i need to cut the power wire to the reverse lights, connect the one end directly to the reverse light, then the other side goes to the cut end of the power wire, cause i think that the power wire just goes to both lights, you might not get what i just said, but now that i think of it, it makes alot more sense.....

It wasnt a specific post on it- It was actually an Org members personal website...

The car was silver- other than that, I have no additional info for you... This was over 2 years ago.
