Anti-rust treatment and audio system?
Monday, August 22, 2005 7:04 PM
My cavy now is 2 yrs old, and before the way-2-fast-coming winter, I'm really thinking about getting an antirust treatment. However, my main concern is its effects on the speakers in the doors and wiring.... Anybody had it done? I'm afraid it'll make a mess and get everything behind the panels oily. I live in Quebec city so the treatment would be really useful, especially because I often park it in the heated garage so the car gets really humid during the night.

Thanks!

I have had it done twice now. Once in NFLD and once here in NS. I haven't had a prob yet. I am not entirely sure...but I think the speakers have a rubber cover over them or plastic or something...again..I am not really sure as I have never had the panel off...But I haven't had a prob...and I have the factory paper cones up front. You could always tell them not to do the doors inside just coat the the outside and not drill them. The main area of worry is the rocker panels, floor, strut mounts and all lines.

It's oily though man. Gets on everything. I had to wash my entire interior after they did mine. But as a plus when they do the underside they get it all over the exhaust and it smokes like a bast*rd as it burns off....freaks people out as you drive around with smoke coming out from your engine bay and under the car...
