i am wanting to put a ps2 in the car...and i've looked around at what needs to be done to accomplish this, and one thing that i obviously need is a power inverter....what brand did you all get/ recommend? also, how many watts was it? and where did u get it? i looked on best buys website and they have 75 watt ones for $30, yet i can go on ebay and get a power inverter for alot less with more wattage....so i need help deciding which is best for my application. thanks
I got mine a while back from a RadioShack ( i was working there lol). Really, the big differences would be the peak output (turn-on) wattage. Like, if you hit the trigger on say, an electric drill. It might only take X amount of watts to actually spin the motor, but Y watts to first start. Some inverters have a higher peak turn on. You may run into electrical interference as well with some of the cheaper ones. Some people I know have had to put a noise filter inline first.
why nopt just get a cig lighter PS2 power supply?

i haven't seen a ps2 power supply....where have u seen one?
with the power inverter, I looked around and found different ones...at different prices....i found a 100 watt one for like 29.00, then i found a 150 watt one for 19.00 ......
. so thats y i'm wondering what brand and wattage everyone is using for theirs and what you have experiece with and what u like....thanks
hell man i just went to wal-mart and got a 175 watt one for like $30 and it works great for my ps2 but i also cut off the cig lighter plug and wired it direct
