Nice, ribbed surround instead of the rolled surround. I hear they bumped up the power ratings on them too for the 2005 models.

That's sick. Totally totally sick. I'm thinking now of getting an Orion 2500d, should have no problem running those.

I am going to have to call

on that one. The sub is rated at 500wrms. There is no way it could handle approximately 2500Wrms(5kw) without popping.
The one dude ran two ed9.1's strapped, which is 2500rms@2 ohm on 1 sub and did at least 5 burps with it. The guy with the monte carlo runs two memphis 1000 watt rms monoblocks strapped and hit 150.1 with one 15!!!!

i have the older version, with one 12 type r and only 500 watts i hit 142.3 db. i think that is pretty good. thinking bout getting the new ones, they look alot better like they say above.
i to have the old ones(2 type r 12's) ,and tomorrow they get replaced by 1 (12" )new 05 model.
Alpine implemented ribbed surrounds last year. Supposedly the thinner surround also effects sound Qaulity as well, (making it better etc)
My Cav
I give up...
i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
Nice video, too bad the quality is so low... they could be trickin us n sayin it was a type R we never see the woofer
I love my old r's I have 3 12" r's in my cav runnin 900 watts to them. I want to get a larger amp for them and give them some real potential.

2009 Ford Mustang V6
I'm getting 2 type r 12's and running 1800 watt rms to them for a daily driver
