I'm trying to change my stereo. I am unable to find the GM05 harness that it says to use in these forums. I am able to find a schosche GM035, it appears to have both GM03 and GM05 in it but that is what i think they look like from outside the package. If anyone has any advice on if this is infact true help me out. The package does say that it fits a 2000 tracker so my guess is it would work. Help?
just go to best buy or the like and ask one of the employers in the install bay for a harness for your car. easiest way to go if you don't know exactly what you need.

if you do go to best buy, you'll have to listen about how you have to relocate ur stereo etc etc etc. i had to listen to this for a good 5 min before i said jus gimme the part. make sure you get the one for gm and not saturn, they look the same but a few wires such as the amp turn on and front and rear speakers are reversed. they gave me the saturn and i didnt notice until it was too late.
has anyone noticed that bet buy gives you all that @!#$ about relocating but on their website they sell a part for NOT relocating your stereo?

i pulled this part up on their computers after they told me that not only dont they sell anything for not relocating, but also that no one even makes harnesses other than t-harnesses.
anyone know of a harness that will still put the chimes to your front left speaker?
I went ahead with the GM035 harness and it fit just fine. When I plugged all the stuff together my stereo wouldn't turn on. I'm going to go through and test all the wires but if anyone has experienced this and has a trick let me know. Thanks
you're going to have to read the sticky up above. for whatever reason, there is no power on the plug to power your deck. you need to run the acc wire from the deck to an alternate source.
the acc wire from the new deck needs to be tapped (with a 5amp) into the wiper (brown wire) or one of the thick orange wires from below the panel.
I just figured it out. As I was going to respond to question whether it had to be a 5 amp fuse because my wiper is a 25 amp. But then it dawned on me that there were 2 slots in the fuse tap. I'm assuming one for the original (wiper) circuit and the second for the wire coming out of the fuse tap. So if my logic is correct without a fuse in the second slot there would be no power to the stereo but a fuse in the first slot would keep the wipers working. I feel pretty stupid because I am now 2 hours away from my stereo which is at my house, while I'm staying at my girfriends to work. I feel pretty dumb because I could have the dash off and stereo in and be done in less than an hour. How dumb I am. I was hoping I wouldn't come off as a neb in my first posts but I guess thats not going to happen anymore. Please tell me my mistake is that easy. Thanks for the help.
yea, the fuse tap has 2 slots. one for the wiper fuse which connects straight to the wipers, and the other for the radio that you're putting in. in that slot you put the 5 amp fuse, and you're done once you have everything wired.
