Is anyone here doing above 151 without a wall on the new termlab mic.

a guy named Lesley here in Ontario is hitting 150 with a single 12' MT. He is also using a nice American Bass amp to power the damn thing..... I have never seen so many 0 gauge wires running from an amp back and fourth to its battery in my life, literally six 0 gauge wires grounding back to the battery..... His box design is solid as well although I think he could hit even higher with some modification.

That is impressive, Thats the RE MT right. I would love to be able to hit 150 with a single sub. I have a single brahma ive tried about 5 box configureations and the best i got was 146.2. I'm starting the think its not possable to hit 150 with a single brahma. I'm starting to concider going with 2 12's by the end of the year or a single 15. Anyone think is feasable to put 2 15s in the trunk firing into the car. The biggest box you could stuff in there is about 33.5 x18 x 28-30" with out haveing to really do any major changes to the trunk. Only thing i'm worried about is where would i put the port. Anyone have any thoughts on that.

Maybe but that sub is not made to play music, this is not strictly spl. If it was I would just put a wall with 2 18s. I want to be able to play music at 150 dbs or higher.

yea the trunk space is an issue considering i want to fit everything into the trunk and have everything hidden with the seats up. I dont have everything 100 yet with design and placement but im planning on putting at anywhere from 8 to 24 10" subs in while still keeping everything hidden in the trunk (the majority anyways)

I highly doubt that you are going to fit any more than 4 subs in the j body trunk. And 24 10" subs .Have fun with that.

I bet it sounds sweet too
How many cubic feet box are they in?
How much power are you running to them?
Unless its in a wall, you are wasting your time and money

Also what are u hitting with that setup?

well currently im running 8 8" not the 10's however they all have .66 airspace. taking about 62.5 watts rms because there just cheap 40 dollar subs, but a rough estimate for db is about 130 -140. the 10's only need .66 airspace wich is perfect for them and as little as .44

I see him @ a lot of comps, So the next time that I see him ill definately take pics and post them up. One thing that I really dislike about his setup though is that for daily driving it is extremely poor. The bass is loud.. but sloppy. + The install is a tad messy, but no worrys on that. Your best bet "brahma" wise is to go with 2 10's and give them some serious power with a serious spl box.

i'm guessing that he's tuned rather high. Anything above 45 hz tuning starts to sound bad playing music. As for the Brahma they dont really take all that much power playing music for long periods. They will easily take 1500-2000 watts at a short burp but anything longer than that and you start to cook the coil since the cooling of the driver is not all that efficent. So for a future set up i'm trying to find another set of woofers that I like. So far I have looked into IDmax 12s, dd9512s, Avalanche 12s( although i'm questioning their quality.) Or my fall back will be 2 XXXs. but thats a ways off it will probably take me a year again to find a driver that i like the best.

they are redoing the brahmas...600rms is the new power rating

xxx line is being revamped also, including the components.

He is a bass head, He cares little for qaulity from what I could see . HE also had a planet Audio HeadUnit, which I was really excited to see since I have never gotten to see one in action before. I could not see the components brand name, but from what I heard they sounded quite nice. So Planet Audio does make decent HU's. Still a wonderful job. My installer has some 6 chamber and 8 chamber bandpass boxes ready, I thing I am going to give them a shot for a little while just to get a feel for them.

There are guys around here with walls of 15s that can't hit higher then 150 with music. Burping a test tone is one thing, but playing music at a 150db is close to impossible without massive power/cone area. The amplitude of the songs just dont compare to a test tone.

The quality of these subs are absolutly suburb! I currently run one avalanche 15 off of 1200 watts in a 28hz tuned box and hit 141.2db. For my tuning and considering this is a SQ sub, quite impressibe. Only issue is, they aren't making avalanches for about 2 months while they change motor topology. If you want to hit 150s, get(now dont laugh guys) two i believe Power Acoustic MOFO12s I cant testify to the sound quality, but i heard two 12s hit 151 in the trunk of a civic
