Speaker performance and cross over wiring setup...
Thursday, August 11, 2005 7:42 PM
Hey i have and aftermarket audio setup, but i dont feel my door and rear deck speakers are doing their best. maybe 60% tops for some reason. Stock speakers in a dodge neon have more vibrant sound and bass than my infinity door and polk speakers. Why is this? could it have to do with how they are wiried? someone mentioned to me that they might not be crossover wired from the head unit like they should. Can someone elaborate why im not getting the full potential? Thanks..

Most likely it's a simple matter of impedance. Stock speakers require less power to make more sound.

The best solution, amp them.
