Guage wire for Two Batteries

What guage wire is recommended when wiring two Optima Batteries? I'm going to run a 12v for the system in the back and a 12v for the rest of the car. The wiring will be + to + and ground the Negative. Any other suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks,

I would say at least 4...

Im not sure, but you might need some kind of battery isolator- so charging 2 batteries doesnt kill your alternator, But i really don't know.

Thanks, I'll keep listening until this weekend, when I go and buy the second battery.

Thanks,

id' use 1/0awg...no isolator needed unless you plan to play your music with the car turned off.

fuse BOTH ends of the battery cable also!!!

Fuse both ends, means you want to put a fuse in the middle of the wire going from the positive to positive cable correct? What fuse would be necessary? Like the one that comes with the power wire for an audio setup? Is that the right guage wire also?

Thanks,
Josh

NO

fuse both ends..within a foot of each battery (two fuses)

You should fuse according to the wire you use...4 awg..fuse with 125amp.

1/0awg..use 300amp.
