if it has a high level input (which it should), all you do is connect that to your back speakers and it will work, thats what i did and it sounds fine

power and ground wont be any diffrent wether your running a stock headunit or aftermarket, you just need to get sound from the deck to the amp. u can use a line level converter. or buy an amp that has high level imputs. you'd take the speaker wire from your rear speakrs and tap into it to run to the amp.

Brett, you need to pick up a line converter like the one HERE. You hook up the converter to your rear speakers and then run RCA cables from your amp to the converter. Everything else on your amp just installs normally after that. Once you get your new deck, just ditch the converter and run the RCAs straight from your head unit to the amp.

Yes, you still need the remote signal. Since you're using a stock deck which won't have a remote lead you'll need to tap into the fuse panel.

You need to run a wire from your amp's remote (REM) to your fuse box which should be located on the drivers side on the dash. You need to find a fuse that is on only when your car is "on." You can test different options with a tester until you locate one, things to look for would be like, power windows, windshield wipers, ect. Things that only work when your car is on. Then tap into the fuse and run it to the amps remote. You can use a fuse tap to do this. The amp should then turn on whenever your car is on.

for my remote i jsut wired it to a switch so i can control when my subs are on or off, easier than findin a fuse, but this way u can kill ur batt if u leave it on

but where do u wire the switch????
Re: is there anyway?????

from a constant +12v source..

REM --- SWITCH --- +12V SOURCE (battery)

like that

so when u turn switch on, amp = on
switch off = amp off lol.

You're still going to want to run your REM wire through a fuse at some point in time. I would still recommend running the wire off of your fuse box. You can still add a switch this way, and by running it off something that is only on when the ignition is on you dont risk running a battery down. Thats just what I would do though.

| fuse box |--------------[switch]----------------------{AMP}

OMG let a proffesional do this or find a friend who knows how to install stereo's from the questions i have seen you like to fry your computer in the process. not being an ass just dont want you to break something. I dont work for a car audio shop BUT i have installed hundreds of stereo's and to have someone show you in person helps sooooo much more and then next time its that much easier. you have to know someone

I had a whole system with amps and subs running from the stock deck on a 2000 Cavalier, and the remote wire was spliced off of a thick yellow wire (an ignition wire) right above the inside hood release, then fused, then to the amp. Professionals will do the same.

careful when telling someone to splice into the yellow wires, esp. someone of limited knowledge, the wires for the airbag in your dash are yellow.
