... for me to get a new mosfet amplifier for my pioneer headunit?
i just bought a premier p440 off ebay for super cheap. hooked it up and it smoked. took it apart and found that everything looks fine except for the mosfet amplifier. just wondering if anyone had a clue how much it would run me to have it fixed. if it's too much i'll probably just toss the thing back up on ebay and see if someone wants it for parts.

why not just hook up a more powerful external amp?
you cant remove the int. amp and run the speakers of an EXT amp
1st, that's a Mofset chip, it is part of the amp and not the amp itself. Read some more on the internet, search on google ( too lazy to do it
) and you'll find out that if it's screwed, you're screwed. Have you called Pioneer about that%
(forgot to add: The mosfet chip is used in amps because it has a lower operating temp than other chips, permitting a higher power output.)
Cheers,
G
well the girl i work with told me to have her mom look at it and see if she can replace it. she works at repairing a bunch of different electronics. wish me luck.
