When i removed my gaugesd today, i cleaned the plastic lens, but didnt touch the needeles or anything like that.
Now my Odometer doesnt light up, I can barely see the #'s at all, but it just doesnt glow anymore, any suggestions?
I checked the fuses too, they are fine, and i checked the connecter, its fine.

Did you also check the fuses that are under the hood? I had a problem with my gauges once and it turned out to be one of those big fuses under there. Outside of that I'd double check the "dimmer" dial also lol
Did that, still dim.

turn up the dimmer lololol... if that was it id laugh. My odometer flickers, turns off some times, and other times displayes alien language.

my wife's 02 did the same thing last night...i gave the dash a love tap and everything is fine now.
Yup... dunno why this happens, but the light seems to be very temperamental when the dash is removed. Often happens when an aftermarket radio is installed, even though you don't touch the cluster.
Whack the top of the dash. If that doesn't bring it back, then you need a new cluster (the bulb is not replaceable, unless you can get the cluster open)

That worked, thanks Lord Lenko and master OSO.

Yea mine still won't do anything!! When we put a deck in there, the light went out & I have tried bangin' on the dash & that won't do it either!!! I hate to spend $150 on a new cluster though

I hit it pretty hard last night & they still don't work

Is there a fuse just for that or would everything be out if it was the fuse?

the same thing happened to my gf's '00 sunfire when i installed an aftermarket h/u, and then again when i installed reverse glow gauges in it. both times it came back within a day or two. didn't do anything special, just let it go and the display came back.
sykeeok.. if NONE of your lights work, then that's different than just the odometer bulb going out. Something is blown or not wired up right, or touching something else. I believe there's a gray wire in the radio harness that may have something to do with that.. I know I had issues with a buddy's car... he'd left the gray wire sitting there, and it grounded out on the aftermarket deck case and the dash lights all went out. As soon as we put tape around it it worked properly again.
Of course.. I dunno if you have an aftermarket deck or not.
All I do know is... the odometer light going out is a REALLY COMMON problem with these 2000-05 cars.. especially after any sort of work in the dash... radio, etc.. moreso Cavaliers... not so much Sunfires... I have no reason why, it makes absolutely no sense.
