eriC, I take it you only have one other amp (another MRP-350).

You might want to look into a capacitor. It would be cheaper than a 2nd battery and/or better alternator. If you have the money and have big plans for your system, go for the battery and/or alternator.

I have two MRP-F240's (bridged to 100w RMS X2) and an MRD-M501 (actual output from Alpine 598w RMS X1) on my factory battery and alternator, but I'm using a decent capacitor. Occasionally the voltage gets low when the bass hits hard, but I've had no problems so far. The ideal setup for me would be a 2nd battery, but I might look into just a yellow top Optima. If and when the alternator goes, I'll get a better one.

As for additional requirements, a fuse block would be a good idea. That way you can split the power to your 2 amps. There are also ground blocks, which I am using, but thinking about changing, because I've heard you get a better ground when everything's grounded directly to the metal of the car.

there are several guys running systems around the 1000 watt range without any electrical issues, u should be fine, just check the current draw after u get the new amp in.
