OK I have this amp
Power acoustik
and this subwoofer
Alpine Type R
I need to know exactly how to wire this thing up to my amp, That means connecting the wires to the terminals on the sub I believe there is 4 btw im not sure. I need to know what terminal connects to which on the sub, and which terminals connect to the amplifer. If that makes any sense I know your supposed to wire 2 terminals together and 2 to the amp if I am correct. Now going from the box to the amp is the easy part, it tells me right on the amp how to bridge it lol.
I need to know so I dont screw it up I paid a lot of money for my system to just screw it up. And I would have best buy install it but they said taht they wouldnt because I already have started installing it. ( im really just upgrading everything, I had a alpine amp with a type e)
anyways all the help I can get would be great;
oh yeah I have looked at alpine.com for info and rockford fosgates wiring wizard and taht didnt help either

I would have suggested a dual 2 ohm sub so you could have run it 4 ohm mono, but what you can do in this situation is run each voice coil to a channel of the amp.
Beat it like it owes you money
ok I could do that. But when the amp says its 560 watts X1 is that 4ohms or 2 ohms?

That's 4 ohm.

so if my sub is 4 ohms then I can bridge it to 4ohms right? also if I go the route that you told me to go. My box only has 2 terminals on it not 4 so I have to make another set of terminals right?

If you run each voice coil to it's own channel, yes, it will be at 4 ohms. It looks like Best Buy doesn't carry a dual 2 ohm version of that sub, so that's gonna be about your only option as far as wiring. And yes, you will need to put another terminal cup on the box.

You could drill a small hole and run a wire from one of the voice coils out, then silicone the hole up. It'll save from having to buy a terminal cup. Your other option is to run your sub in series, but that'll only give you 8 ohms, and it won't hit nearly as hard. If you have any more questions, hit me up on aim, i'll be on till 4ish.

thanks
