My fiance has remote start on her 99 GT. The model is a 791xv. The remote start has decided to quit working on it. Upon further inspection today, I noticed that when you give the remote the command to remote start, you do not hear the fuel pump run. "pit stop" mode has also stoped working as well. Any wires I can check before I bring it back in to have the installer look at it??

Does it crank over at all? Make sure that the hood pin is working properly, the car won't start with it open. As for wiring the remote start harness is large with white pink and yellow wires (12 gauge or higher I think) it shouldn't be too hard to find they have to tap into the ignitiion module so it's around the steering column. The harness is pretty heavy duty, unless there has beeen major shock (electrical or physical) I would not think that it could come loose. That's all I can think of for now, any warranty with the install?
Oh yea I think there is a fuse on the remote start harness, I can't quite recall if there is one or not, I will take a look at mine. I also have the 790xv no problems so far.
It does crank but then quits. It won't crank at all if the hood is open correct? I think we had an issue with that switch before. I'll take a look at the harness and see what I can find. I'm not sure about a warranty on install.

When the hood pin is not working or open, the remote start will not crank the car.
If you got it installed at a circut city or best buy then they should warranty the install for a period of time. I remember seeing a 30 amp fuse on the harness but that would not stop the fuel pump alone, the whole start cycle would not work.
The installer should be able to figure it out.
