Does it really matter which way you face the subs? I've heard facing them back is best, but does this really help?
facing the rear will give you the best results...UNLESS you want to do a lot of work to seal off your car for forward facing

Try this. Point them toward the rear of the car. Close the trunk. Get into the driver's seat. Listen.
Point them toward the front of the car. Close the trunk. Get into the driver's seat. Listen.
Hell, try all 360 degrees. You're bound to find one that sounds like what you are looking for. It's all about your ears and what you want to hear.

Thanks for the information. The only thing I can see as being a problem with facing the backwards is that the trunk will rattle.
i have my subs facing towards the back and theyre pounding just as much as anything

"this is only the beginning"
what about the people that create cusotm enclosures for their subs, and they have them pointing up or angled up?
Thanks,
if u want to face the subs towards the trunk , try taking out the hing/spring that allows the trunk lid to go up easily and for it to stay up on its own.. i have 2 kicker l7s facing towards my trunk and had to do that and add a little bit of dynamat and with my system on somewhat high, it barely rattles at all.. and when its on full blast its no where near as bad as my old setup with eclipse subs w/o the hinge/spring taken out.. it helps out ALOT
