Hey guys, I bought a Magicar Car Alarm System for my 97 cav coupe. My bro had the determination to install the alarm. But after 6 hrs, he still didn't have the project completed. He still has to tie in the alarm to the dome relay, so if someone breaks in through my doors, my alarm will not sound, only if they hit my dash. My bro put the dual shock sensor in the middle of the dash right under the steering column. But, when i test it, it doesn't go off until i hit the dashboard itself. I was wondering, where is the best place to put the shock sensor so it will know that it is being hit from the outside. Also, the sensor is turned all the way up. Another question, if my bro wires into the dome relay, will it go off if someone were to open the trunk or do i have to splice the wire of the light in the trunk. Sry for all the reading, just like to tell the facts. Thanks.

The shock sensor is probably turned all the way down- with it turned all the way up, tapping the outside of the car with your finger would probably give you warning chirps..Unless its a bad sensor or something.
He shouldnt use the dome light as the door trigger... You can find the correct wires in the kick panel as follows.. Its a negative trigger.
The green/black is located in the lower drivers kick panel. It catches the drivers door only. The light blue is located in the lower passenger kick panel, and catches the passenger door(s). Tap both wires and diode isolate each.
As for the trunk- I do not believe there is a trigger for it... You would have to add a pin switch or a mercury switch- a mercury switch is a little easier to place, and less obvious.

For the trunk you can use the black wire on the light. It is controlled by a mercury switch, it gives a (+) when opened.
DO NOT use the dome light wire for the door trigger. Do what RedDevil said and diode isolate.

alongs these same lines... I had my alarm installed... but it is too sensitive... where would I find the sensativity adjustment and how do I do it? I have a black widow alarm with the pager adn stuff... I hope that is enough info... I don't really want to dig through my garage for teh box...
Look under the drivers side of the dash. There should be a clear plastic thingy with a circuit card inside and a 3-4 wire bundle coming out of it. When you tap it, you should see a red diode turn on. That is usually what a shock sensor looks like, and you just have to turn the adjustment screw clockwise or counterclockwise. If you can't find it, take it to a car alarm place, they'll ususally do it for free, if you aren't a dick.
