Ok I have had classes in circuits, but want to double check before I dive in.
My amp is 1000 watts at 2 ohms.
Looking to do new subs... alpine type r's:
they are dual voice coils, and each is 4 ohms.
Now circuitry would tell me that If i run them in parallel, connecting 1 coil on each i end up with a 2 ohm load, each speaker getting the full 1000 watts correct?
Ok next question:
Since they are DVC... you can hook both coils up in series, making each sub 8 ohms total correct?
Doing all the circuit reduction 8 ohms * 8 ohms / 8+8 ohms = 4 ohm load total for 2 subs, then if you did the same for a second set of subs total load = 2 ohms, and all 4 subs are getting the same amount of power as stated before right?
I may be mistaken, just wanted to check first

is this a two channel amp or 1 channel? if its two channel yes paralel the sub and run it to its own channel. if its 1 channel and u paralel the sub, then paralel the two subs together to run to your single amp channel, the amp is now seeing 1 ohm.
in your second example that would work for 4 subs off of a single channel and each sub will receive 250 watts equaling 1000 total.
