what is underneath the lower trim panel?

Cross listed since I wasn't sure what forum to post this in (my apologies)

I have a 99 Cavalier. I was wanting to install speakers in the front corner of my dash near the A pillars (in the exposed portion of the lower trim panel). I have no idea what is underneath this trim panel. I know how to take it out, but was hoping someone had information about this before I went digging into my dash. Are there just wires underneath? Is there some sort of ABS HVAC duct in that area? Will I be able to have any sort of mounting depth there?

That's probably the worst place to mount speakers in a '99 cavalier. I drive one daily.

Taking that panel out requires much disassembly. You're better off finding a junkyard for some kick panels to hack up. Kicks come out of these high-quality, well-engineered machines without tools.

There's sheet metal behind that panel... part of the metal crossmember that supports the dash... and the car from fold in half entirely when someone T-bones ya.
