You know what would be PIMP?
If someone could interface a their in-car MP3 PC with OBDII. Then that certain someone could monitor the PCM and read trouble codes from the comfort of their driver's seat.
The next step would be controlling the car through it.
Time. I wish I had more.

actually i think you can monitor you obdII car with it. You have to have a cable to hook the car computer to your car pc...ususally hooks to your car pc through a serial connection.
have you got the monitor yet....i am curios to know how they compare to the xenarc ones.

check out
http://www.logicsupply.com as well. Sometimes the prices are a few bucks cheaper than mp3car.com. Ive been checking out mp3car for a while now, year and a half, and finally got my setup somewhat complete, though with a carputer, its never finished.
as far as obdII, yes... you can extract information from obdII with a computer.
Personally, Id spend the extra money and get a xenarc screen, thats what I have, and have taken it apart and back together again with no problems. Though, I havent seen/used a liliput screen in person before.
Just keep in mind what you want to do when building your carputer, and go from there.
Yup... set up in my car right now.. the obd2 monitoring part... i just need a xenarc.. but cant find any canadian resellers
Theres a guy on mp3car working on a custom skinnable OBDII front end for some OBDII software (can't remember which specific one). The progress I saw was pretty sweet, and that was awhile ago now. His name is Frodo[something]. He's also made FrodoPlayer which has a lot of features, I haven't really fiddled w/ it much yet tho.
As for my carputer, IF I decide to do it in the Cav, I'm using an old Compaq Presario 715US laptop w/ 14.1" screen. I'm molding the screen into the dash (I need to re-build the whole lower middle section of the dash to do it

such is the life of customizers) and the rest of the laptop will be tucked away in the dash. I'm still debating on 5.1 or 7.1 surround.
