Radio Question
Saturday, July 23, 2005 3:23 PM
Hello all, I have a radio question. I have an 03 ls Sport cavalier, that has a CD cassette, and XM radio from the factory.I was wondering if a radio from an 05 cavalier with the same features plus an mp3 player would be just a simple replacement with the radio that i have currently. If so, where could i find one of these radios. Thanks for any info.

Simple replacement, plus a trip to the GM dealer to reflash the radio to work with the car. The BCM won't unlock it without a Tech 2.

Try Ebay?

Awesome, i was hoping that it would work, what do you mean by reflash the radio? I work at a gm dealer, so getting a hold of a tech 2 is easy. Thanks

the bcm stores the vin of your veh and the radio also stores the same vin. If the vin # don't match up, then your radio will say locked. So you must get the radio flashed and your vin # added to the radio so the bcm and radio are the same. It's a theft deterant thing
