I have just purchased and installed an MTX 2 channel amplifier which I connected to my front and rear car speakers. After connecting the amp I found that I have a terrible problem with car noise (the sound of the engine and spark plugs playing through the radio.) I placed a noise filter on the radio, the attena, and two on my RCA cable. I still hear the car noise though it is not as bad. I even regrounded my Head unit directly to the chasis and the noise still persists. I do not get any car noise through my Interfire amplifier which is connected to my subs even though there is no noise filter placed on it. I also get a loud hissing sound playing through my front and rear speakers even though the volume is turned all the way down. I think that maybe part of my problem is that I am using Scoche(walmart) noise filters on my RCA. I have experimented with every RCA and power cable in the car and I can not seem to get rid of the noise. Can anyone give me any more suggestions? I am about to give up and see how much it will cost for me to have a proffessional fix the problem for me. I am just asking if anyone may know of anything I have not tried already.

does the noise disappear, when the car is turned off? if it does, remove deck and connect directly to battery, both positive and ground and test there, if the problem disappears, its not the deck, try running both power and ground to battery after reinstalling the deck
Its not how fast your car goes....its how much nerve the driver has to push it that fast.
are the rca cables twisted inside? if they are maybe on of the rcas are bad.. that happened to me and all i did temporarily was split the good one til i can get another one hooked up.
u changed the ground on the deck, but did u try changing the ground on the amp to your highs? if your are amping both highs and the subs, and your subs dont have the noise, chances are probably good its not coming from the deck, if it was the deck most likely both amps would pick up the noise (although it could be sending it to one versus the other, just not as likekly)
are your grounds on your amp going to bare metal. not painted metal. and did you upgrade the ground to frame at the battery?

I think I may have solved my problem. First, I bought so Stinger Helix RCA cables which helped reduced the noise. I noticed that I could still hear the spark plugs firing through the radio. I then moved my spark plug wires as far away from the firewall as I could and I noticed a big reduction in the amount of unwanted sound. I am planning on running a new yellow power wire to see if I can stop the noise completely. I thnk I may the mistake of moving the accessory(red) power wire around and forgot about the constant(yellow) power wire. I will have to wait to try this the next opportunity I get. I will let everyone know if my idea works.

Where did you mount your amp? If you mounted it in the trunk or under your seat make sure you run the power wire and the rca's on opposite sides of the car. The power wire will generate noise on the amp that runs your highs, the sub amp dosn't matter as much cause the low pass crossover will filter out that noise.
Thanks for the suggestions, but I have installed and read about amp installations a million times over. I appreciate the try though.
