I know this is prob a bit different then performance type part sponsors so I am posting it here. I would really like to land an audio sponsor like Alphasonik, Audiobahn, Kicker, Pioneer, or Alpine. I know of some ppl that are sponsored and didnt really have even as strong a car as what I do. Is this even still done? I have a pretty good record, been to 8 stereo comps since ive had the car and won 6 of them. Theres shows almost every weekend I'd compete in if I could. Is there anyone on here that is sponsored by these companies if so how did you get started. I understand that much of it involves convincing them that thier investment is worthwhile, im just not sure the actual path to follow.

check their websites and see if they say anything about sponsorship oppurtunities. Any sponsorship is going to be tough. you're best of doing some crazy ass install and winning a lot of big competions.
Yea, winning local comps isnt going to get you anywhere with a big company. The guys that are running the 100,000 watt+ vans are getting the big label sponserships.
Try going through sponsership through local shops, but they really want your money so that wont get far. Set a world record with your car without sponsership, and you might see some interest in you.
If the point is to get cheap audio stuff you're better off getting a part time job in the install bay at circuit city, be alot easier than getting sponsored

Yep ^^^^. The people who need the sponsorships don't get them. The people with the unlimited budgets who have won do. Who have you beaten? Biggs, Smith, Tyler, Donney, Gates? If it isn't earth shaking news, no one wants to part with anything free. Sorry to rain on your parade, but our shop has never been picked up for any complete sponsorship and the stores car was zone points champion for 7 straight years (includes 12 states).
Auto and Audio show cars Good luck, maybe you are a better "salesman".

Sponsorship is hard to get... you have to win official dbdrag comps,/ other official SPL comp's SQ comps. Local bestbuy/future shop compitions are not going to get them to like your setup.
1. The install must be picture perfect, looks great and still sounds great.
2. a good amount of titles/winnings under you belt, in both audio and car shows.
3. These wins have to be @ big name events. nothing small.
4. Sponsorship from a local audio shop is easier.

not nessicarily, i can point you to a couple people on this site that have full sponsorship from quality audio companies that have never stepped a foot into the audio arena.
your off to a good start, by winning comps. if i was a company i'd rather have my sponsored guy hit a dozen smaller shows versus 2 big shows. geting the product shown to the consumer, showing it in the proper way, and being a good promoter of the company is what i would look for. it really comes down to getting together a kick ass resume of yourself and your car. pics of a dirty car and install with wires showing isnt going to get you any luck from a sponsor. you have to be extremly professional.
people like gates and biggs etc have been around a long time and they put in their time before they picked up the rides they have they spent tons of their own money before they got the product and cash they get now.
dont forget though that with sponsorships comes other things, like in allot of orginazations, your now automatically entering into the pro division. working for an audio store will also throw you into the pro category as well.
