i just saw an ad in the crutchfield catalog that rockford fosgate is releasing a "25 to life special edition" amps the punch 45 and punch 75.wow that shows my age.these were my 1st high end amps.i would love to see them do a power 1000 version.back in the day that was the badest amp to to have.now these amps were not high power amps, the punch 45 was 22.5 x2 and the punch 75 was 32.5x2.but back in the day these were the amps to have if you wanted the best for compition because they were so underated they usally did twice the power that they claimed.the 1st time i heard a punch 45 it was powering 22 speakers which included 2 12's.that was 1 amp + 22 speakers = wow. that was a long time ago.anyway i thouhgt i would let you about this,im sure some of you may not find this as exciting as me, im old it doesnt it doesent take much to get me excited.
That would be sweet. I love the punch 45s. Gotta love bridging one of those little monsters down to a quarter of an ohm and lettin it rip.

was @ my freinds installers shop last night when a younger kid came by with a couple old RF subs, were talking 10 year old subs as well and they were still pumping like champs....Sad to see him replace them with 2 10' Audiobahn Naturals....in a sealed box...... I couldn't figure out why... (they still worked)

I had a power 300 running 4 12s back in the late 80s and it was one of the strongest amps I've had. Another favorite was a first generation hifonics vulcan. Easily outpowered other peoples amps that had double the ratings.
Holy cow, they are expensive from Crutchfield. Punch 45 is $399.99, and the Punch 75 is $499.99. I wonder if they are built identical to the old ones.
Back in the 90's, one of my friends who owed my some cash, gave me a brand new Punch 45 that he won from the car audio place he worked for. Later, I traded a guy I knew some cash and the Punch 45, for a Punch 60x2. Today, I still use the Punch 60x2. It runs a pair of 4" Infinity Kappa components, and a pair of Infinity Kappa coaxials. Right side front and back, on one channel. Left side front and back, on the other channel. Puts out 280 watts in this setup. Pry not the cleanest amp, but it is solid, like the RF amps were back then. The Punch Verification Certificate says it was built 07-30-1996. Old school.

yeah i thought they would be cheaper.if i remember correctly the were about half of what they are selling them for now.
it seems so funny to me that something i have used is now considered "old school"!!! Im only 25 years old!!! If i remember right, back in 96 it was rockford amps and kicker solobaric subbs were king. and prolly sony or pioneer for heads. ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, back in the day..............................................
One amp and 22 speakers = one hell of a passive crossover.
I knew a guy back in high school with a Punch 45 running four MTX 10s in a Blazer. (This was 92 or so). That thing pounded like hell.

There was a Quality Auto Sound here that had cars that used single Punch 45's. One car had 12 speakers, the other 13. Unsure if they were their competition cars, or customers.
