options i have other than dyno-mat
Sunday, July 17, 2005 8:02 PM
with the muffler and everything on the car, it can get fairly loud inside the car, so i was thinking about lining the floor (under the carpet obviously) with a sort of sound deadening. but i know if i wanted to do the whole floor and everything, that dynomat would probably get expensive. so is there anything else that woulds just as good for a cheaper price? and how much $$$ and sq. footage that i'd have to buy in order to accomplish this.....oh, and would it be much more to do the whole car? like behind the door panels, and trunk, and up the inside of the rear quarter panel? thanks

what about b-quiet extreme? it seems even less than brown bread and dynomat....how well does it drown out the noise? with my muffler and all, the car can get pretty loud...so is this a mod that is worth the money? or should i save my money and do something else to the car?

Can also try Raamat. It can be found at raamaudio.com or searching around on ebay. Good stuff and a great guy to deal with. It's a good mod if you want less road/exhaust noise and less vibrations. It's completely up to you if you'd rather use the money on something else.

you can use fiber glass insulation under your carpet. it's sucks to work with but it's cheap.

The generic stuff from Parts Express works good. Might have issues with vertical mounting, but for horizontal surfaces, it is a good choice.

which would u all say is better or recommend more? fatmat or b-quiet? 100 sq. feet of b-quiet shipped to my door is $149, and 100 sq. feet of fatmat shipped is $129. So price doesn't matter between the 2, but i want to know which will stick better, work better, sound deaden better, etc. i hope to order one or the other in the next few days, so any and all help is appreciated. thanks

i ordered the 100 sq. ft. of the fatmat a long time ago, i have a little more than 50 sq. ft. of it in just my trunk and then some under the back seat and I have some left over but will prolly be ordering more to finish up my floor. i think the amount i have already ordered has helped greatly, sticks very well, i was happy with my purchase

doubt you would have any audible diffrence between the two. i'd go with the cheapest one so you can buy more of it. i did about 2-3 layers on the entire car and at around 140db its barely noticable outside the car.
