i have a 04 cavi, i want to install factory alarm and keyless dealer is no help as most cavi parts are discontinued at the dealer. i`ve read these things are controled by the bcm. however it seems there should be some module to control this. i mean would gm really use the bcm for this and put it in every car? anyways a module number and or wiring diagram of the factory install would be nice
Discontinued? On a 2004? What a load....

They're feeding you lines to get rid of you.
It's not easy... but it can be done. If you don't have a connection at GM, you'll need to pay for Tech 2 diagnostic time.. and hope that the techs know how to do it, because it's certainly not an everyday procedure.
The BCM controls the keyless entry. If you didn't have it stock, you need to get the right BCM for your car that DOES have it.. there are two BCM's for every application... with keyless entry, and without.
I get BCM's for $5 at the local wrecking yard... sometimes, if I'm lucky, the keyfobs are in the car with the keys... so I don't have to get it reprogrammed. If not, it's a trip to GM for the reflash, no other way around it.
If you're running a stock deck... you'll need to get it reflashed too. And you'll have to perform the R-code relearn procedure (takes 30 minutes to do) to get the car to start. Even after that... you'll have to run wires for the locks if you don't already have them.
It's probably easier to get an aftermarket alarm

guaranteed it'll be cheaper....
