I was trying to wire a single 20 neon behind my front grill today. I wanted to hook it up to the fog light switch (since I don't have them anymore) but the wiring for all my lights is wrapped in tape and the fog light wires are in it somewhere but i dont know where or what they look like. So could anyone attempt to explain to me how I can wire a neon (12v) to a switch inside my car semi-easily. I don't want it hooked to the headlights or anything, I want to be able to control when it is on and off. Thanks
Well you transformer has to be connected to power, and then your neon to that.
So have your switch, ground to switch, usually the odd colored prong, Power to prong 3, and your acc or transformaer to the middle prong.
If you cant find which wires are fogs, find your fog wiring and trace it back.

^^ if its jsut a tube it has a built-in transformer...
Just take ground from the neon, and ground it (could use a mounting screw when u install it... or any metal on the car...)
run the + to inside the car, to a switch. The other side of the switch to + on the battery. And your set.
You may want a fuse between the battery and the switch, as clsoe to the batttery as possible (within 2-3 feet).
If you dont know how to get wires in and out of your car... look under your dash, you will see a gromet in your firewall that is about 8-10 inches in diameter, but only has 2 or 3 inches of wire goign through it. I jsut put a slice in the extra part of that gromet to run my wires through.
You're reading my line-break, you are a loser. Lurch <3's the c**k.
Thanks, I got it wired pretty nicely. I broke something taking the compartment looking thing out from under my radio to mount the switch on. It sags a little on one side. Something creative to hold it up will have to be constructed.
