to those that got their units stolen... how easy is it to get them to honor the warranty? I am curious since my vehicle isn't exactly inconspicuous and I don't trust the surrounding area of my school... like what did you have to provide in order to get your new unit?
also, what is the ESN and what does it do?
basically not sure on the newer ones but the older ones were keyed to a cd. when u key the unit to the cd whenever u dissconnect the battery and replug it in u have to insert the keyed cd to get the unit to work. put in the wrong cd 2 or maybe 3 times and a call eclipse 1800 number will appear on the unit, so if anone calls in they can basically track it that way. not sure how it works other then that.

Well i had an eclipse about 3-4 years ago and it was like sndsgood said with having to put in the cd you program it with in order for it to work again, I dont live in the greatest of neighborhoods and it was when i was still goin to school so i couldnt afford an alarm at the time so needless to say that deck lasted 2 weeks, as long as you have an authorized eclipse dealer install it then there shouldnt be a problem just report it to them they should help you through the process and have a new deck in 2-3 weeks as long as nothing has changed in there policy since then, oh and you also need a police report if i remeber correctly hope this helps.
you have to have a police report and original reciept....I had one taken a few years ago....

what if I don't actually have the receipt but I have the reciept from the install... I am getting the deck as a gift from a group of people and wont actually have the receipt for it... but if it gets taken I definately will have a police report... not to mention a seriously pissed off attitude... I dunno where they are getting the unit, but I am going to have it installed at a dealer if they aren't going to take my arm, leg, and both my coconuts as payment...
I work at a Eclipse Dealer, YOU MUST have the ORIGINAL RECIEPT, and the replacement is for 1 YEAR after it was installed by a dealer, or the date of purchase.
