7 Band Amplified Equalizer -UPDATE
Thursday, July 14, 2005 1:48 PM
We'll this thing is a bitch.

Hooked it up, power, ground, source ground, then i noticed a problem. It needs the inputs off the Amp for my Sub. But i have self powered subs. 2 Infinity Basslink T's.

As for my front and rear speakers, i cant hook them up either, because they are not amped.

Unless, does any one have any ideas that would make it work without the amp connections?

Here is a small view of what im up against.

I know, i know, the bottom of the bracket broke upon installation, so a new bracket is being bought tommorow, as with a new harness. As you may be able to see, Just the HU wiring, and the RCA wires to the subs are visable, and has made hook up reletivelty impossible. Since they are wired a bit off, and many of the connections are not holding.

Duh its the same deck, i said i got a new one, Same model. And most of the wiring is the same except for Blue/white, red on red to orange with green stripe, and black to black with white stripe. Those were replaced, Waterproof gold plated butt connectors and terminals are there now wrapped in a wider electrical tape. Ill get you better pics hunni.

Oh and if its the same wiring you say, Why are there 4 other power wires in the jumble of harness, and why is the illumination wire connected, and why is the pass feed wires there tooo? Cuase you didnt do those. And why is the switching power wire connected to the brown wire and not the fuse box?

if it is an amplified equaliser, shouldn't it come with speaker outputs for your speakers? and an equaliser should be ran before the amp. so your would run rca from headunit to eq, then to amp. so u should still be able to use it on your subs unless your subs dont have an rca input.

Does the EQ just mount in the pocket below the aftermarket deck or do you need a special bracket. I'll be adding a EQ to my system soon and need to know if i need a new bracket or do I just cut the back out of the pocket.

Your gonna need to get a new bracket, the one i have, had a little map pocket underneither, that was supposedly 1/2 din. Its wasent. And i gotta get a new one cause i broke it.

And sndsgood:

I gave up, and returned it to a shop that was affilated to the original purchase place. I couldnt get cash, but got store credit instead. So for $55 i got 21 feet of blue 4 gauge wire, 25 feet of blue 8 gauge wire, 10 4 gauge ring terminals, 10 8 gauge terminals, a new mounting bracket and radio harness, and 25 pre wired Blue Leds.

Unlike you i know how to crimp.

Shall i post a pic of your crimp jobs with 8 gauge wire?

I currently run 4 gauge wire to the trunk, which is divide to two 8's awg wires

Do you have any idea, how much problems i had with my sub wiring you did?

And im not gonna blame you for my work, because so far its lasted longer, and i dont get shocked touching it, and it doesnt spark when power is increased.

No offense, but I would ditch that eq. Boss isnt of very high quality. I would be willing to bet your going to introduce more noise into your sound than take out with that thing. Just my .02 cents though.
