i was just wondering if anyone knew what the blue, white and orange wire on the factory switch for a 2002 cavalier are? i picked some door pannels up at the junkyard but they have the factory locks and i didnt, but i an aftermarket one with my alarm. i havent looked at anything kuz a shop installed it all for me but i just wanted to know if was possible so i know what im gonna be looking at. any help would be really appreciated.
i did this to my car a few years back.
blue- lock
white- unlock
orange-12v constant
thanks a lot ill try tomorrow
when i hooked everything up to what i THINK it should be it didnt work. the 2 wires coming off of the lock itself i tapped into becuase im pretty sure it was the lock and unlock? then i just quickly ran a wire to the battery to see if it would work. it kinda moved the lock a bit but not very much at all. what am i doing wrong? i dunno what kind of aftermarket lock i have so i took a pic if it would help at all. I hope cardomain works.
i'll write up a diagram for you tomorrow. you need to have a relay for lock and a relay for unlock. on the actuator....the green is lock and the blue is unlock. so in order to lock the actuator the green needs to see 12v and the blue needs to be grounded, and vice versa. i'll send you a diagram tomorrow though to clarify what i am talking about
u need 2 relays as stated, below is how they must be wired
Its not how fast your car goes....its how much nerve the driver has to push it that fast.
^^^ Yuppers
The power door lock switches (orange is supply voltage... blue lock... white unlock)... they send power to the power door lock relay... on a stock equipped 3rd gen J, it's on the passenger side below the dash, next to the door pin on the passenger A-pillar. If you just go from switch to the actuator... it won't work as well.
