Does anyone know the warranty info for Eclipse head units... I had heard that if you have the dealer install it you get a three year warranty as opposed to installing it yourself and only getting one year... also, since they have the one year theft warranty, do you need to install it at the dealer or can I install it and still get that somehow?
I beleive it must be installed by an authorized eclipse dealer I use to have an eclipse few years back and it got stollen 3 weeks after i got it lol... they sent me another one right away, great company to deal with.
yeah thats what the deal is.. but when i went to carlisle last year i bought a set of highs and the deck that i still haev in my car.. well i neglected to fill out the warranty car d because it does have a spot of the installers info and signature stating that they installed it. but installing highs and headunits in our cars are preety self explanatory so me and my boyfriend installed everything and about a little after a year i bought them, one of the door speakers went and i called up eclipse and told them that my boyfriend was an installer at a local shop and he did it and i forgot to fill out the card.. i told them he was certified so they could replace the speakers for free. a did a lot of faxing and luckily i had the business card from the booth i bought it and sent the information to the lady that is in charge of warranty.. so was nice enough to let me fill out my warranty card out then ( more than a year after i bought it) and honor the 3 year warranty.. not only did they replace the speaker but they upgraded the model at no extra charge for me.. all i did pay for was the shipping but that wasnt that mnuch anyways..
but if u need the number to warranty, i have the ladys direct line and the fax number in my cell if u ever need it
awesome... so to those that got their units stolen... how easy is it to get them to honor the warranty? I am curious since my vehicle isn't exactly inconspicuous and I don't trust the surrounding area of my school... like what did you have to provide in order to get your new unit?
i didnt get a new headunit, i got new speakers.. im not sure exactly what u would have to do with since it was stolen, does it have the ESN security with the unit.. they could probally track it and as long as ur in ur warranty i would assume they would replace it,.,
I know that you got speakers Sara, but HondaRapist before you had his unit stolen, and I wondered what legths he has to go to to get them to send him the new unit... also, what does the ESN actually do?
I'm pretty sure all ESN is is eclipses security system that only allows you to use the HU again if you put that cd you set it up with, i dont beleive they can actually "track" the head unit this would be to costly to make it worth there time enless you had like a $1500+ HU as for time it takes a good 3-6 weeks i cant remember exact time but i remember not having any music for a while but they will honor it just have all the warrenty info and police report ready to send them.
