I have a 250 RMS watt Rockford amp powering 2 12" P2 Subs. I bridged them and am running them parallel which takes the amp down to 2 Ohms. The manual says 4 ohm min. What can this do to my speakers/ sub???
the amp is sending more power than it can handle and can heat up and eventually you'll fry it. if the speakers cant handle the power or your clipping your signal, you'll blow the subs. i dont know exactly which amp your running nor do i know what the 12" P2 subs can handle, but my amp is 4 ohms bridged stable and i've been running it down to 2 ohms for about a year and its been fine. its an older rockford amp, the 1000a2. you might be fine, you might not, someone else can probably help you more.
not a rf but a sony i had ( everyone scream and run) lol i had that down to 2 ohms and it overheated and shutoff every five mins.

Before it blows it will overheat constantly and shut itself off, warning signs of a soon to be blowout on the amp. ^ like Jk said. The GTX Sony series were notorious for overheating and the like while bridged... What do you expect thouigh for a 200 $ amp that claims it can push 1200 peak @ 2ohms ? lol.
