Capacitor

Ok guys... I bought a new deck and it fixed the dimming problems. I will eventually do the Big3 and upgrade to a new battery. I am in the process of hooking up my subs, amp, capacitor, etc. This is going to sound dumb, but I need to run the power wire from the battery to the cap, and then from the cap to the amp. Then as for the ground, do I run the ground from the amp straight to the chasis(frame) and then ground the cap as well seperately, or so I run the ground from AMP to the cap and then from the cap to the chasis? I cannot remember, its been about 6 months since I unhooked it from my elantra.

Thanks guys,
Chris

They get grounded seperately, but use a grounding block or ground them close together so you reduce the change of getting a ground loop.

Yup, ground them seperately, and any bolt that connects to the metal frame, is a ground point.

So, run a ground wire from the cap to a ground point, and then run a wire from the amp to a ground point, right?

Have them as close together as possible, but not that the point?

Thanks,
Chris

I used the seatbelt bolts as ground. Works great no loop and no whine

I just grounded both of mine to the frame underneath the rear seat... I had to scrape some of the paint off, but it really doesn't matter since it is beneath the seat

i don't think it really matters...it's going to be worthless no matter where you ground it
