I need a new deck... I want MP3 playback and full control over my audio... I keep it tuned for quality rather than power, but here is what I have in my car for it to go with...
2400W 2-Channel Rockford-Fosgate Amp pushing 2 Rockford-Fosgate 12" HE2 Subs
1500W 4-Channel Rockford-Fosgate Amp pushing Rockford-Fosgate 6x9 3-ways in back and 6" Rockford-Fosgate components in Q logic Kickpanels in front. 4x6 2-way pioneer speakers in the door tied directly to the deck and a set of tweeters in teh upper molding tied directly to the deck. I also have 2 1-Farad capacitors, a beefed up alternator and a 100-amp circuit breaker under the hood. Any suggestions? Model numbers would help a lot.

Best bet is to go check out different brands and models are your local shops. Everyone on this site could probably recommend a different deck, but it's about what's good for you.

he's right on that...but if u want some brands to check out i would say alpine and clarion
its all a matter of personal preference.....but i, personally, like the Pioneer Premier line of cd players. Mine has MP3 capability and 3 sets a pre-outs (Front, Rear and Sub) with full control over each. Alpines are nice as well.

i do a lot of audio stuff and of everything i have seen and heard and used, as far as head units go, i LOVE alpine, they got some awesome head units. what kind of price range are you looking at? i think the alpine 9830 is a nice head unit for what u want and it cost around 240-250 right now i belileve. 3 sets of 4 amp pre-outs (front rear and sub), mp3, cd, windows media files. nice head unit for the price. if for some reason u want a different brand. i have seen some REAL nice clarion's and a couple decent pioneer premiers
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

i had lots of toys when i was young.slinky,etc.but once i found my penis, that was all she wrote
ok, so alpines are good to look at... anyone know how kenwoods stack up? I was just poking around and came across the Kenwood KDC-x979 and wondered if anyone had any idea of how well it held up over time and how well it handled sound quality, etc. I also plan on looking at some alpines... I like motorized decks and black panels as well as good graphics... about price range... under 500-600... I plan on using Ebay to its full advantage to see how low I can get some of these things... I jsut picked up a Optima Yellow Top for 136.30 including shipping...

alpine's are honestly great HU's eveyboyd is gonna laught but for sound quality i like sony i have the CDX-F7715X it has every control you could ever want....except the nifty timing feature of the alpines some of them let you delay some of the speakers so the sound reaches the driver at the exact same time...
Forget Ebay, check out etronics.com and compare....
