I wanna know where to get these subs, and how much they run each?
I am planning on either 2 12"s or 4 10"s. I've searched all over the web and can't find them anywhere. Someone point me in the right direction.
thx,
Michael

^^ yeah hope thats a joke too....cuz RE's are awesome subs. I have a friend who just got 4 XXX 15's and I can hear him from like 3 blocks away. I tried to tell him the 4 was overkill but he wouldn't listen.
Thx,

I'm glad other people agree with me. I don't know why anybody would ever want to run RE.
To the guys that weren't sure if I was joking. Yes, I am. I think we figured out that I was the second person running RE on this site. I'm one of the people that got the whole RE craze started here.
But onto a new subject, how about that David guy at RE. I've heard some strange things about him.

The Sarcasm was hard to detect ......

Ill still take a Brahma over a XXX though

A brahma and a XXX are nearly indentical. both use XBL2 and both sound very very similar.
So ordering them direct from the factory is the only way to get them in the US? Thats alot of money just for subs...I still have to get amps & a fiberglass box built. I hope the fiberglass can hold up to all the bass.
Thx,
Michael

If you have a dealer in your area, that is who you have to buy from. If you don't, then you can order direct.
As for those prices being expensive, they are pretty cheap when you start to compare them to other things.

you can get them direct from re if you dont have a dealer with in 100 miles from you, if you do then you have to pay what they sell them for.
oh and the subs do not cost much at all for what you get, look at the W7's and how much they cost. to me the XXX will out do it in spl and sq.
what are you lookin for? you might want to pick up some se's or sx's

Adire developed the Tech, I would prefer to stay with the creators

sweetnloud: I want XXXs. I was lookin at Rockford Fosgate power HX2s, but they just dont fit my style anymore. I've lost interest in RF since I've used their amps and subs for so long that now its time for a change. So now I'll be using 2 RE XXX subs, Memphis amps, and Eclipse screens.
Thx,
Michael

A XXX would hand a power hx2 its ass in a bucket. Any way shape or form.
I dunno if I would say that, the new HX2s are really loud. I know a guy with 2 15" in his reg cab S10 and its LOUD. But that has nothing to do with this topic. Now I don't know how it would sound if he switched to XXXs but he doesnt plan to.
Anyways, I have decided to go with 2 12" RE XXXs. Now my question is should I go with a ported or sealed box? And how many watts should I run to each sub....I dont wanna max them out or anything but I want some hard hitting BASS. Back when I had my system I was only running 300 watts. I really want to run 3000 watts but I dont wanna break anything in my car. I mean it is my daily driver.
thx,
Michael

^^ run em ported
and 3,000 watts for two, that would do just fine.

ALRIGHT.... I have to say something.... umm did yall know that tehre are onlky 3, i reapeat 3 companies in the WORLD that manufacture speakers....???? what does that mean? that your subs, and someoelses subs, are most likelky the same thing. The plants that RF, Sony, Pioneer, MA, Kenwood, RE, haver that they say they make them there... well its only sort of true... those are moree like wharehouses, that store the things...and if there is any work on the subs that they do..... well its that pretty little emblem and the sticker on the back that gets put on.... only granted if the indiviudual company actuaally does that!!! The quality is the same all around... i mean theres not that many diffrent ways of putting a voicecoil together....
The big diffrence comes in how many watts , what ohms you play.. how many voicecoils..and how much the cones travel.

wait for it... wait for it... NOW GO!! ---> '02 LS Sport <---

Entasi there
If what you are saying is that all woofers are the same then why do they have different rms value . Different T/s Specs? Flat cones? Square Cones? Bigger magnets? Flat coils? 3 inch coils? 4 inch coils? Neo Motors? Ceramic motors? XBL2 Technology? Why is the W7 patented? Why do some have heavier cones? Dirrect connect speaker leads? Why do some have woven tinsel leads? Vented pole pieces? unvented pole pieces? Why do some have a longer warranty? Some not have a warranty? why do some have more xmax? more xmag? why can some be ran in ported box? some only sealed? why can some be ran free air? why can some be ran in huge boxes? Others small boxes? If they are all the same except for winding a coil then why are there so many variances? that means I can run my 2500d to some DVC 4ohm pyramids and I'll get the same result as my REs right? Yes there are not that many build houses int he world. The same thing goes for amps. But there are more to woofers than what you are making it out to be. There are very very few identical woofers out there. that are being sold as different brands.
buzz122 wrote:onlky 3, i reapeat 3 companies in the WORLD that manufacture speakers....
I think Nate pretty well covered this one.
buzz122 wrote:The quality is the same all around
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I'm sorry, that has to be one of the most ignorant statements I've ever heard.
buzz122 wrote:

There aren't? You do realize, just to start, how many different metals there are that you can use to make a voicecoil? Although Nate covered that as well.
buzz122 wrote:

Umm...no. You're telling me that if I take 2 Pyramid's, run 1000 watts at 1 ohm, in box, that gets the subs moving...oh, say 15mm. Then I take 2 RE SX's, run 1000 watts at 1 ohm, in box, with the subs moving 15 mm, there won't be a difference?

ignorance is bliss i suppose
